Tropical Bryology Research (TBR) was formed in October 1997 by Brian O'Shea and Martin Wigginton to further bryological research in the tropics (particularly in Africa), to act for an ad hoc association of bryologists with expertise in this area. We are now undertaking our first major project, a Guide to bryophytes of sub-Saharan Africa (GBA) - a flora down to genus level of the mosses and hepatics of the area.

We are interested in taking on any funded work in this area.

A journal is also published, Tropical Bryology Research Reports, the first five issues of which are now available.
