29 December 2005 Tropical Bryology Research Reports 6: Checklist of the mosses of sub-Saharan Africa (version 6, December 2006) is published and available on-line.
September 2006 All GBA data transferred to GBAonline website, with just project progress for GBA remaining.
23 May 2005 GBA progress and statistics updated, in parallel with realease of a new 'GBAonline' website.
2 September 2004 Tropical Bryology Research Reports 5: Checklist and distribution of the liverworts and hornworts of sub-Saharan Africa, including the East African Islands (edition 2, September 2004) is published and available on-line.
9 August 2004 New format adopted for website, with side menu.
15 June 2004 Sri Lanka data now includes an on-line checklist of taxa, including lists of synonyms and literature references, and also list of endemics, genera and families. 
10 June 2004 Other projects: Sri Lanka.  Some initial data is now available for Sri Lanka, including a checklist to download.   More to follow. 
21 March 2004 GBA. Re-organisation of hepatics: Anthocerotaceae split into 3 genera (to include Dendrocerotaceae and Notothyladaceae), Southbya, Sauteria, Plicanthus, Xylolejeunea and Hyalolepidozia added, Chandonanthus, Capillolejeunea and Trachylejeunea removed. 
8 January 2004 Statistics relating to African mosses updated.   There are now family, genus, species, and country statistics for both endemic and non-endemic African taxa, based on the data gathered for TBRR4 v. 4, the moss checklist.   Click on the 'other projects' button. 
29 December 2003 TBRR4: Checklist of the mosses of sub-Saharan Africa (version 4, 12/03) now available for download, as Tropical Bryology Research Reports 4: 1-182. 
23 December 2003 Other Projects: map of Africa added showing country divisions and abbreviations as used in TBR African checklists etc. 
17 September 2003 GBA: PDF file for Bryaceae added.   Orthodontiaceae, Meesiaceae and part of Mniaceae marked as 'Unallocated'.

9 June 2003 GBA: progress update - 58% complete (68% families, 55% genera)

10 April 2003 GBA: transfer of families Sphagnaceae and Ephemeraceae to Frank Müller, and Aulacomniaceae and Encalyptaceae to Brian O'Shea 
11 January 2003 GBA: addition of PDF files covering all accepted treatments of moss families. 
10 January 2003 GBA: update of progress data, and introduction of PDF files on-line for newly completed families - initially only Thuidiaceae.  All treatments as accepted will now be converted to PDF files, as will treatments previously accepted:   only Andreaeaceae and Archidiaceae have so far been converted.

18 July 2002 New version of web site to allow easier updating (move from NetObjects to FrontPage).   To allow use of a wider variety of web browsers, it has not been possible to use 'hover buttons' (buttons that change colour when the cursor is passed over them).
